Casey Stoner continued to rule Aragon field in the race today same way as he has done through all weekend, winning the race without any serious challenge from other riders. After recovering first position from Spies and Pedrosa who both had better start, Stoner set series of fast laps and disappeared in the distance from second-placed Pedrosa. Pedrosa also had no challenges for second place, while Jorge Lorenzo patiently built his race to third place, which was best result reigning MotoGP champion could achieve after nightmare weekend.
Marco Simoncelli rode race in which he had ups and downs, looking like certain podium candidate in first part of the race. Simonceli then made mistake while being in third place and lost rhythm, managing to recover fourth place from Spies. Spies was another rider who looked strong early in the race, but then started going backwards and finished in 5th place. Alwaro Bautista won race-long battle with Hayden and Babera for 6th place. Hayden settled in 7th place, while Barbera finished in 8th position.
Cal Crutchlow managed to defend 9th place from Valentino Rossi, who charged his way from pit lane to 10th place at the end of the race in which Ducati debuted front part of the frame made of aluminum.
Stoner is now 44 points clear of Lorenzo, who is again 55 points in front of Dovizioso, who finished race in gravel in the very first lap. After this race, not much hope has left for Lorenzo to defend his title from Stoner, who looks unbeatable at the moment...
