Gresini to appear at Valencia

Fausto Gresini 2011

Gresini Racing will attend the season-ending Valencia Grand Prix after all, but has yet to decide whether it will compete in the event.

Team boss Fausto Gresini was quoted in the Italian press on Monday as saying that there was no chance of going to Valencia as the team continues to mourn the death of its rider Marco Simoncelli at the Malaysian Grand Prix last Sunday.

"The only certainty is that my team won't participate in the upcoming Valencia Grand Prix and in the tests programmed after the race," he told Corriere dello Sport.

However, he has now decided to bring his team to the Valencia event on November 4-6 and to display Simoncelli's number 58 Honda in the garage all weekend.

The team has yet to make a decision, however, on whether Hiroshi Aoyama, or its Moto2 riders Michele Pirro and Yuki Takahashi, will take to the track.
